Napa Valley is called the birthplace of modern day wine country. It consists of the townships of Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St Helena and Calistoga.
We had a wonderful lunch and our first glass of wine here at Bistro Jeanty in Yountville.
Our next wine tasting was at the Sterling estate where we tried tree different wines, and I ended up buying a Chardonnay. To get to the wine tasting area you had to take a gondola. And the view up there was spectacular.
According to Lonely Planet independent, family owned wineries still exists, but much of Napa Valley is now owned by global conglomerates.
