Tasmanian road trip, day 5: February 5.
Distance: Hobart to Launceston
Drops of rain: None!
Number of roadkill: 5-10
Number of stops because of construction work: 2
First and only stop was made in Oatlands (pop 550). Oatlands contains Australia´s largest collection of Gregorian architecture. On the stately main street alone there are 87 historic buildings, many of which are now galleries and craft shops. Above is the Callington Mill, built in 1837, functioning until 1891, now restored and reopened in 2010.
Companion bakery was said to have the best sourdough sandwiches in Tasmania, so I had to try one!
