A small monastery near our camp at 4900 masl, near the basecamp of Mount Everest. We met a monk who lived in this small monastery for 3 years. For a long period of time he was without food, and it is very cold up there all year round.
The yellow you see over is butter, the smell of butter was in every monastery.
Once a year the munks show the "Tangkha", and we were lucky to arrive at Ganden monastery the day of the viewing.
