HIROSHIMA-JO is also known as Carp castle. It was originally constructed in 1589, but much of it was dismantled and the remainder was totally destroyed by the atomic bomb. It was then rebuilt in modern reinforced concrete in 1958 (source Lonely Planet).
The castle is in Hiroshima, as the name gives away..
Even though it has been rebuilt, the castle was well worth a visit.
